A picture you can actually identify someone in
1080p at 1920 x 1080, against the 720p most socket cameras ship with. After dark the ring of white LEDs switches on with the light level, so the picture stays in full colour instead of washing out to infrared grey.

The eight LEDs around the lens are there to light the scene for the camera at night, not to light a room. Treat the socket as a camera mount rather than as your main lighting.
Put it in a covered fixture — a porch light, a carport, a sheltered doorway. It is a bulb-socket device and it is not rated to sit exposed to rain, so keep it under something.
No. Clips record to a microSD card of up to 128GB that you supply, and live view and alerts work without paying anything. Cloud storage is offered as a paid extra if you would rather not use a card, but nothing on the camera depends on it.
It joins either a 2.4GHz or a 5GHz network, which covers just about every home router. Signal at the socket matters more than the band — a far corner of the garden may be weak.
Yes. You can share the camera with family through the app so several people can check in and get alerts, rather than everything landing on one phone.
